1.6. Transferring Item Templates

Last Updated 11/08/2023

How to Transfer Cataloging Templates when Staff Leaves

When a staff member who performed cataloging functions leaves, they may need to need to export item/copy templates from their login access account. From here, new cataloging staff can import them into their login access accounts.

Exporting templates

  1. Log into Evergreen on the old login account.
  2. Navigate to the Item Attributes screen in the Holdings Editor for any existing item.
  3. Locate the Templates dropdown list at the top of the Item Attributes editor.
  4. Select the template you wish to export from the drop-down list.
  5. Click the Export button next to the drop-down list, and save the file on your computer.

The Templates drop-down and all relevant buttons are at the top of the Item Attributes screen.

Importing Templates

The staff member using the exported templates will need a copy of the exported files. They can then import them into their Evergreen staff account.

  1. Log into the staff login account where the templates will be imported.
  2. Navigate to the Item Attributes screen in the Holdings Editor for any existing item.
  3. Locate and click the Import button next to the templates drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the exported templates file.

The item templates will be available with that login on any computer.
