Last Updated 11/08/2023

How to Set Up a Label Printer

The exact steps needed to set up your label printer may be different depending on the specific type of printer you have. This example is for a Dymo Labelwriter 450 Turbo.

  1. Go to the Dymo website and find the software download that matches the printer model you have. Download and install that software.
  2. Under the Administration menu in Evergreen, select Workstation Administration.
  3. Find the Printer Settings Editor.
  4. Set all the margins to zero margins and all the headers and footers to blank.
  5. Set up your spine label settings using the parameters that meet your library's needs. Typically:
    • Set the margins to Left: 0 and Top: 0.15
    • Columns: 1
    • Call Number Wrap Filter Height: 4
    • Call Number Wrap Filter Width: 10
    • Font Size: 12pt
    • Height for Spine Label: 1 in
    • Width for Spine Label: 1 in
